BUYERS BEWARE - CLOUD CAPE TOWN SHOES AVERTISED ON FACEBOOK

There is a legal maxim which reads "Caveat emptor" which simple means let the buyer beware. I have been duped into buying so called Orthopedic shoes off their advert posted on Facebook. The litany of emails to get delivery (originally Hannah promised 18 days) which took place after 57 days, and then on top of the so caled free delivery, I had to pay an import duty at the post office and collect the shoes myself.

Worst of all the confirmation email indicates the size ordered, and the goods received were the wrong size. The adverti*****t on Facebook seems to have been removed, however they post others and in so doing I found their website, which in itself is an issue as there are no contact numbers or physical address in Cape Town, so the website may well be generated in China portraying this a local entity.

Return policy sets out that goods must be returned in 14 days (no address provided) but only after an email has been sent to them advising them of the buyer's intention to return the goods and then asking for a full refund.

Having comp**** with this as well as having sent other emails, all are ignored.

It would seem that this is really a glorified **** and the goods certainly do not meet the expected quality of being as advertised.

All that we as "duped" customers can do is to report them to the Consumer Protection Council, although there I do not hold out much hope due to possibly a lack of physical presence in South Africa.

I posted a comment on Facebook on one of their "new" adverti*****ts which I see has been removed. The content was very much in line with what I have posted here. It seems that they sanitize their presence so as to continue being able to catch unsuspecting buyers.
