"THE KINDNESS OF CLIVE"

As a pensioner can there be anything more traumatic than your old TV screen going black while the sound track ( now meaningless ) drones on? Consulting the newspaper TV repairman ads for help all assured me the symptom meant the tube had blown, not worth repairing and a call-out fee of R500 would confirm it. A friend suggested I call CLIVES TV in Hillcrest for advice. I did....the advice was to bring the set in on the basis that "If I can't fix it - there's no charge !". With nothing to lose I did just that and, guess what ? The only problem was nothing more than a loose cable connection! Better still....there was no charge! In this age of hard-hearted profiteering it's wonderful to know there are still people who see merit in helping their fellow man purely as an act of kindness. Permit me to sincerely applaud you, Clive.....though I think your name was Craig! But what's in a name.....thanks again!
