Clive Levy Properties - Horrible
I would not recommend Clive Levy Properties.
After viewing numerous houses in the Blairgowrie area and requesting via email the offer to purchase a particular house – he (Clive Levy) called me and insisted I tell him over the phone instead. Thereafter he patronised me for offering 27% lower than the asking price. Clive Levy himself was extremely unprofessional and rude. He accused me of "wasting his time", not being “serious” and "not doing sufficient research" yet in my opinion the house is extremely overpriced and I offered based on my opinion of its value. I told him that I had my reasons. I mentioned that I had found out that the house was bought for R920 000 in 2006 and is now being sold for R1 890 000 in 2019 which is almost a million rand profit which didn’t seem fair to me. He shouted at me saying that I don’t know what renovations had been done to the house and that the roof and kitchen had just been newly renovated. Uhm – well yes, the kitchen is lovely but the roof is Chromadek so it’s basically a fancy shack. Should that provide enough reason? I think not. I had also compared other houses that I had viewed in the past two weeks in the same area with this one which had fewer rooms, no pool and less space. Which included one house that is going for R3 million with more bedrooms all un-suite toilets and showers with walk-in closets, a pool and a cottage on a bigger ground.
As an estate agent, I would expect, whether or not an offer is considered “too low” to still be communicated to the seller or if the seller has expressed their minimum offer to just say so. There was no need for Clive to be so mean to me - an okay would suffice.
