Victoria hospital is in shambles

I have just been to Victoria private hospital Mafikeng. With an injury to my right shoulder from falling. I overheard the nursing sister explaining to the other patient that for X-rays during weekends there is a co-payment of R350, I then asked her to confirm what I overheard, she narrated the same thing. I then requested to leave and seek help from another institution, since I didn't have that amount of money, and I was not even willing to pay for it.

I have been a member of GEMS medical aid for as long as I can remember but what they are doing is ridiculous, they are exploiting us. Victoria hospital is also not assisting in any way. According to their stupid and monopolistic ******ions we are not supposed to fall sick during weekends, what will happen to the poor client when they need a radiology service if it's a matter of life and death. Are they going to wake up a corpse and demand Co- payments. This is absurd, the poor public servants are made cash ***s, while they claim that the medical schemes are subsidised.

There is a cry for alternative private hospitals like in other areas, where is Life Health Care?. These people are just doing as they please since they don't have competition locally. I have been to this hospital on several instances and the services are getting worse as the years go by, please do something about the management and improve your standards of care. Mafikeng provincial hospital is offering far much better care than you. We are just visiting your institution because it carries a name, nothing else. From catering; they give clients grade C quality meals, the bed linen looks like it was bought since the Mangope regime. The nursing staff is always tired and complaining and take their own time to respond to calls. We keep on complaining but there's no change.

Please monied people open another private hospital I can do a better job
