Tshepo-Themba Hospital - Anything but Tshepo-Themba!

I am bleeding with hurt and disappointment when my parent went to seek medical attention at Clinix's Tshepo-Themba Hospital, Dobsonville - Soweto. Arriving at around 14h00 - it took almost an hour to be attended to by Casualty. Once a doctor eventually met the patient, it was another 3 hours wait whilst, as per Nurse Mohale, the hospital was waiting for the Medical Aid to confirm authorisation. I found this very odd, so I called the medical aid. Guess what!? Medical aid has been trying to get hold of the Case Manager to understand the reasons for admission. Case Manager was nowhere? Phone numbers? *** / *** - called them myself (no answer). After I threw a tantrum, I got to understand that it was the hospital delaying the diagnosis details (which is one of the many things the medical aid needs before an authorisation can be issued) have not been provided. Why? Guess what!? No doctor to issue the diagnosis? How possible is that? Well, that's what happened? I've asked my beloved parent to get out of that hospital with their life still in one peace - and not allow anyone else in that hospital to touch them! Transferring the patient to a more patient-centric hospital group. No one deserves to wait for 4 hours because of an authorisation! Where's the proactiveness in the hospital? Patient care and update? Engagement with the medical aid to solve the problem? Engagement with the main member to discuss the matte at hand? This is a private hospital? Or perhaps not... #ChooseAtYourWill
