The behaviour of Dr Malefetsane Peter Ngatane

Firstly I would like to clarify that this review is about the treatment received by a patient at the Soweto branch Dr SK Mateke Memorial Hospital.

The patient was attended byba Dr Malefetsane Peter Ngatane who then proceeded to treat the patient with utter disrespect. He acted unprofessionally and left the patient feeling broken and scared.

He verbally abused the patient, insulting her at every turn of the consultation and harassing her by making inappropriate comments which I fear to even mention on this forum.

He then broke the legislation( The Patient Charter) where he refused to explain to the patient what was wrong with her and what procedure would be needed to rectify whatever was wrong, leaving the patient uninformed about her condition.

He then ordered that she be taken to theatre still without an explanation of what os going to happen and when asked proceeded to lay more insults at the patient.

After the procedure he again failed to clarify what exactly was done in the theare and refused to clarify again. And again adding more verbal abuse towards the patient.

It is utterly disgraceful and absolutely unacceptable that such behaviour should be tolerated at a private institution.

I urge all who have experienced this ill-treatment from this doctor to break the silence and voice their complaints with Clinix Health Group.
