Pathetic and uncalled for treatment
Good day sir
1. I was seen in casualty and admitted on 28 August 2021 taken to ICU round and past 21h00 the night staff gave me a warm welcome.
2. The day shift nurses on 29 August 2021 including the male nurse (i forgot his name) and the doctor whom I was informed earlier that she was the one assigned for me Dr Seloisa and she later came doing rounds introduced herself to me as my doctor made horrible remarks about me and acted very cruel towards me, after I was calling for help one them came to me l told am running short of breath can she please assist me she just walked away from me even my male nurse was just walking up and down but not helping me the only thing he did he was waiting next my bed preparing himself to wear a blue protective gear so he can be able to carry me when I die when he realizes that I was coming he kept hanging in on my drip stand. I could also feel my heart beating very slowly gradually through the machine that was connected to me. I eventually fell into a deep sleep and they thought I was dying I also thought I was loosing my life, even when my cellphone was ringing I could hear it but couldn't get up to take the calls. I heard one of them saying we have another death another one answered by saying who? Then that one rep**** by saying it's Mbele then they continued talking she's dying now. They continued saying when is she dying she's wasting our time she keeps coming back, another one said that she is opposing God's will she doesn't want to die she is still answering for her sins, another one said just write B16 and make it to be a minute ahead by then she'll be dead, another one said if only the was no camera here we would do that and also put her in the mortuary bag. After a while they were still talking I could hear the heartbeat machine picking up my heart beat started to beat a bit up one of them this one oh no she's coming she's sleeping now she doesn't want to die. Then I opened my eyes and they were so disappointed and said we thought she was dying another one said no wait she will die. I kept dosing off and coming back until I saw another lady entering each and every cubicle checking patients opening and closing the curtains as she was walking towards my cubicle, I thought to myself that should be the doctor I've been waiting for. The doctor eventually entered the cubicle next to mine after she finished she opened the curtain she saw my face and I was supposed to be the next for her to examine she whispered talking with a low voice saying 'oh o wa mbora' meaning this one is a bore and she walked away and immediately came back, she told me that she is doctor Seloisa my doctor and then I asked her doctor what did you just say now? she asked me what did I say I said you just said l am a bore, she said no I did not say that sister did you hear me saying that sister said no doctor I said to her I heard you and the funny part is you will be running to make a claim on my medical aid yet you say the things you say about me, I told her that I heard everything you guys have been saying about me while you were thinking that I was dying. Yoh i shouldn't have said that then all of them were mocking me talking about me as if I was not even there I kept quiet now they were saying they cannot work in front of me even the doctor said that herself. Then they were now plotting how to get rid of me,then I could hear them whispering saying that they better phone another unit they should come pretend to examine me and then a lady carrying a navy blue bag (I'm not which unit she was from) she came and the minute she laid her eyes on me she made a u-turn and whispered saying no this one is dying and she left the ward staring at me. They continued to plot I even heard the doctor saying she cannot work in front of this one meaning me. I was slowly getting angrier until I couldn't take it anymore because one of the nurses came to me and said my cell phone is making noise can't I lower the volume because it was constantly ringing she even took it and put it on silent mode because by that it didn't have a pin. I took my cellphone and phoned my niece and cousin told them everything that has been happening l also told them that since they put me here on this bed last night it's now afternoon they haven't even changed my pad or bathed me or changed my bedding even the drip that they put on me is not even running they stopped purposely the only things that are working is the machine monitoring my heart beat, my blood pressure and another thing that they've put on my finger because they said they are waiting for me to die. I asked my family to come fetch with immediate effect so I can go home and die in peace. I then called out Dr Seloisa who was again examining the patient next to me behind a closed curtain I yelled and said to her it's better for you to come and discharge me so I can go home and die in peace because you guys are playing God with my life, she eventually came to me and said she cannot discharge me because I am still not okay I said oh no you are going to discharge me and today by that time I was so aggressive because they were now trying to be nice. After sometime I just dozed off again when I woke up it was in the afternoon I realized that they had changed the set up of the ward or whether they changed me I'm not sure because there was other nurses who were not there in the morning there was a *** nurse who was not there in the morning and he said don't worry doctor we will cover you no matter what she does. I then said to them you guys think I'm stupid you changed the set up of the ward you want to make me look like I'm crazy by that time my family had arrived because I saw my nephew and my niece from a distance. Then my niece came to my bed she was carrying a bag containing my pyjamas and sanitary towels I called out for them to come and remove the drip they said they are coming I got more angry and I removed the stickers on my chest, the blood pressure thing, the thing on my finger and the needle of the drip and blood was oozing from my right hand I app**** pressure until it stopped I removed the cathet got off the bed took out the bloodied panties that I was wearing removed the hospitals bloodied sanitary towel that was put on by the casualty nurse last night, I put on clean panties and clean sanitary towel put on my pyjamas and walked out of the ward. As I was walking out with my niece Karabo and my nephew Kamohelo joined us I then saw my cousin Katie sitting inside a room talking to Dr Seloisa I don't know what they were discussing by then I then pointed at the doctor and I in a fit of rage said to her 'you better pray that I die like you wishing me for me to die because if I don't die tonight I am coming back for you. I then walked away with my niece and nephew leaving my cousin with the doctor. After a few minutes my cousin came to the car we drove along the way I asked her what was she talking with that doctor she told me that they were calling Dr Makaba and they made an appointment for me to see her(Dr Makaba) tomorrow on Monday the 30th August, but before she agreed to talk to Dr Seloisa she initially refused and asked that Dr Seloisa refer her to the doctor in charge which she did and she explained to her that I was complaining about the treatment I received from Dr Seloisa and the nurses, I then asked her what does Dr Makaba have to do with all of this she answered me by saying Dr Seloisa told her that I told her that I haven't been taking my depression medication so I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms, I then said to my cousin even if I had stopped taking my medication they had no right to treat me the way they treated me and in that ICU and in return they want to act as if I don't know what I was talking about I was crazy and hallucinating and they involve Dr Makaba in this. I then said okay I'll go see Dr Makaba tomorrow but this is against my wish they had no right to phone Dr Makaba. We went home woke up the next day my cousin accompanied me we went to see Dr Makaba and I told her that I haven't been taking my medication for the past 2 weeks and she advised me that even if I wanted to stop taking the medication it was the wrong way of doing it I was supposed to talk to her and she would assess me and gradually reduce the dose then she advised me that it is better for her to admit me and put me back on the medication, she then admitted me on 30th August 2021 at the wellness and discharged me on 07 September 2021. I was not treated well by Dr Seloisa and the nurses in the ICU ward, I am still traumatized up to date because of the people whom I trusted with my life. I trust that this matter will be dealt with fairly. I have sent the Mr Jabulani Kgasapane an email and I haven't received any response from Sept 2021 till today.
