Disregard of customer needs

I have been struggling to find a store in South Africa that stocks the SPF 50 sunscreen 50ml by Clinique. For each store that I've visited they do could not offer any explanation why they have not received stock for months for this product. I had to call head office only to be told that it was discontinued. I cannot understand why Clinique could not have common courtesy to inform their customers well in advance that the product will be discontinued. We are in the middle of summer and I am now having to research and switch to another brand. I never expected this from Clinique, I had so much respect for this brand but I'm very disappointed. That is the end of my relationship with them.
