Repudiate claim due to many varied & baseless reas

I have a Clientsure house holders insurance policy, now under written by clientele. I have specified a printer on the policy 3/4months ago serial numbers provided etc. We had a power interruption due to a broken cable which affected the entire neigbourhood - not load shedding. I therefore put in a claim that the printer no longer works since we had the power outage. I called them to claim and they advised they were sending out a technician to validate the claim. Before the technician came they called again to repudiate the claim due to the fact that the house holders insurance does not cover accidents. I have been advised they are required by law to notify in writing. I requested the details by email and that the response details be in writing. I received a call instead. This time I was told that I did not specify the machine! (I did 3/4months ago). I was asked who I spoke to - i spoke to the call centre. Then I was told that I apparently told them I told them I had outsurance house holders insurance - which I don't have and never did! Legally if I did, they would have to pay minimum half the claim! I have no confidence in them paying out any claim - many varied excuses.
