Unfair Business Practices

I am writing this to make other potential victims aware of the unfair business practices at Clientele. I know my issue will not get resolved to my satisfaction because they just do not care. I submitted a claim against a life I had insured on my funeral policy with clientele and yet the following month the deceased's premium went off my account. When I query this I was sent from pillar to post with promises for refund and ultimately told no refund will be made because I was supposed to give them 30 day notice before making any changes to my policy. I still don't understand if that means I was meant to delay the funeral and claim weeks later so I don't pay a premium I no longer needed or that the deceased needed to have made sure to pass on in time to give clientele their 30 days notice so that I don't end up out of pocket unnecessarily. I am really disappointed in Clientele!

Oh, I did finally get my refund. I am happy that I got what was due to me but still very disappointed that I had to first throw my toys out the cot before getting Clientele do to what is right. I have been a customer for many years and this was not the first time I had to submit a claim and with all my interactions with them; this was the worst. Regardless, thank you for resolving my issue.

As per our telephonic discussion we confirmed the reason, the debit order was raised in the month of February 2018.

Based on the outcome of our investigations we confirm that we have requested an urgent refund and you have confirmed that the funds are now available in your account. Furthermore an adjustment to your premium amount was done, which will be effective from March 2018.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused in this regard. You have confirmed that you are satisfied with the outcome and we would like to thank you for providing us the opportunity to resolve this matter.

We trust you find the above in order however, should you wish to contact us again please do not hesitate to do so.

Yours sincerely,

Hi Benita, Unfortunately you did not stay true to your word and I am having to fight again with Clientele to first correct the premium deducted and to refund the excess for March. I called in on the 16th March to inform you that you have again deducted the old premium and was told that I just needed to send proof of this and refund will be made within two working days. The two working days have lapsed and of course I had to call and complain and have been told I will only get my refund next week some time. This is completely unacceptable!
