TRUE **** ARTISTS
My girlfriend took out a funeral plan with Clientele in 2023 with the hope that if anything should happen to her then she would be covered. Based on all the ads on TV one would think that this is a reputable organization - alas this is not the case. My girlfriend unfortunately passed away on the 24/02/2025 and I submitted all required docs to Clientele on the 25/02/2025.
To date we have not received the payout from Clientele. I had to call them back on numerous occasions only to hear that they didn't receive the required docs which I sent. They then miraculously found it. On the morning of 27/02/2025 I spoke to an assessor named Nkateko who advised that they couldn't verify certain information like get hold of the funeral parlour yet when I called I got hold of them. Later that afternoon she called to advise that all checks we done and the payment request would be sent to management. The payment should have taken 24 hours to reflect so we would still be able to get the money before the funeral on Saturday.
Since the call on Thursday nothing has happened, so I decided to call again today 06/03/2025, only to be told that the claim has been sent for investigation. This after everything was checked out.
My question now is are they looking for a reason not to pay. Has all the allegations of Clientele only taking your money and not honouring commitments been true. Are they hoping that I will just let this slide, surely not.
This experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
