Thievery!!

I took a colleague to Shoprite in Jane Furse during April 2019 and waited in the vehicle for him. A person approached me and offered me a quotation on Clientele products. I went to the gazebo where other Clientele Representatives were busy with other prospective clients. A young lady asked me for my FNB Cheque card, saying that Clientele offers discount for FNB clients and she can only give me a proper quote if I give her my card. She swiped the card through a reader and it produced a slip that she stapled onto the inside of a folder, of which she tore off a portion and gave the rest to me to sign. When I read the small print where she wanted me to sign, I saw that my signature would give them authorisation to withdraw money from my FNB account. I refused to sign and said to her that I only want a quote, she asked me how are they going to contact me from Clientele Head Office to confirm the quote? I rep**** that they have all my details, which they wrote on a writing pad. She gave me the folder and said that someone from Clientele Head Office would phone me during that day to confirm that she spoke with me and whether I want to take out the cover or not. Nobody phoned me ever, but at the end of April 2019, an amount of R265 was withdrawn from my cheque account by Clientele. I went to my bank to reverse the debit order and was informed that Clientele had blocked any reversal of the transaction. When I sent them an email to complain, they rep**** that they cancelled the policy at my request and that they would pay back the premium after 45 days. I had no policy with them in the first place, as I never signed any documents and they had no authorisation to withdraw any money from my bank account, so this constitutes theft and ***** in the first degree! I agree that they should be investigated by the Hawks, or whomever, and legal action be taken against them.
