I took up a hospital plan with Clientele Life < a consultant called me and offered this product, i informed the consultant that i had an ankle fracture and due for surgery the next month, this was in December 2017 when i took the policy, i asked the consultant will i be covered he said yes i will.Fast forward after i got discharged sent my claim i got called saying my claim has been repudiated due to the fact that i had a pre- existing condition i sent my complaint had to go from pillar to post till i was referred to the arbitration's department of which they listened to my audio with the consultant and cleared it .Then my 2nd complaint was that the consultant explained the policy using big numbers to attract me and get me to take up the policy..He signed me up on the R 2000.00 lump sum benefit which basically is after 3 day hospital stay you receive a R 2000.00 lump sum and after the 10th day you receive 10 % of the lump sum daily benefit..But what he had explained was different he knew that my premium was not was he explained and instead of explaining what my premium was he used "word ****" which is the "Up to" these was his words to me.." you will receive up to R 200 000.00 in benefits, as well as "you will receive up to R 2000.00 daily benefit after the 10th day" that was not the case only after i claimed i was notified that it is R 200.00 which was not my understanding based on the telephone conversation. During my stay at hospital i encountered other patients that had policies or have policies and based on they personal with Clientele it was the run around when they had to claim, its unfair and appalling to me that people including myself are promised things that wont be delivered i will not rest till ii get as promised on that sales called and even though the consultant said "up to" R 2000.00 the fact of the matter is he said R 2000.00 to get me to take up the policy regardless of the wording he used which to me is manipulation.. I spoke to the complaints department and they told me because he said "up to" they cant pay out..but my question is how many South Africans are being ****med to take up policies using big words and numbers and after the policy has been taken and premiums deducted monthly and then it is time to claim, how many get what has being promised instead they have to cancel .money wasted instead of gained..The truth is the consultant new if he sold me the actual policy without the big numbers i wouldn't have taken it up and now i am asking for what i was promised by him i cant get it cause he said up to, even though the up to R 2000.00 was not relevant cause i had taken up a lump sum of R 2000.00 which meant i simply had to receive R 200.00 after the 10th day why would he say up to R 2000.00, its because the **** people and people pay and pay trusting Clientele cause it is a big company... Everything i was promised was not fulfilled even the airtime i was promised R 50.00 was never included.. Clientele is a **** and they **** people!!!!!!! If a Clientele representative uses this type of s**** to sell to customers I am assuming it is how they were trained by the company and it works because take up the policy and then when it is time to claim they are told stories and i happen to be 1 of those people.
