Most ********* if not ******* business!

My wife is 6 weeks pregnant and we do not have medical aid. We were in the process to get quotes when we discovered that she is pregnant. No medical aid will cover her now (understandable). For this reason I started looking at other alternatives. I saw a Clientele Life advert and asked them to phone me as per their adverti*****t. This was over the weekend and on Monday (20/11/17) a lady phoned me. She explained the product somewhat and I then asked for the details to be emailed to me please so that I can discuss it with my wife. Bare in mind that this lady is only a normal call centre lady and not their most qualified agents. She explained to me that she cannot send me the details now, I must first sign up and buy their product. I told her that I don't want to do that before I have gone through the fine print. She advised me to first go through the information on the internet and then she will phone me again the following day to hear my answer.

The next day one of their top agents phoned me (might be self proclaimed best agent). I think his name is James, I can't remember. He is a very lively person and very fast talker. In the very beginning of our very long phone call he said why he was phoning (as mentioned above) and he then mentioned the words "free quotation" to me. After a lot of talk and him assuring me that they will cover my pregnant wife, I was interested in the product. I again asked him to mail me the details which he refused. He then argued with me and kept on interrupting me as I wanted to explain myself. He said things like, "Mr Martin I feel like I am talking in circles with you, you do not listen". Now by this time I would have generally either only have put the phone down, or I would have made my voice heard by force (loud voice till he listens). But because I wanted to know more about the product and we really need some sort of help with the pregnancy, I tried to have patients with him. After he nagged my ID number out of me he even accused me of giving him false details. He later on nagged my banking details out of me in a very rude manner and his attitude never changed even after I gave him my details against my will. At the end he asked me if it is ok if they will start deducting money as of next month. At this stage I had enough and I made my voice heard where I called him and his company ********* and *******. He just put the phone down on me.

This was Tuesday. Today is Thursday and I have had ZERO communication with any contract or anything from Clientele Life EXCEPT for two sms's telling me that they will deduct money from me. HOW CAN THIS WAY OF DOING BUSINESS EVEN BE LEGAL??? Where in life do you buy something and only then get to see what it is?? I only know of children's lucky packets! I pray that this letter gets seen by as much people as possible, especially those who have influence to take on these big companies that cheats and ***** from the public!
