Lies told to make a sale

A few weeks ago I became in contact with clientele life for a funeral policy for myself and my partner plus extended family. I was more interested in covering my extended family. I was explained that my grandfather age 83 will be covered. I was also told my premium would be R488. 00 and that we all covered for R15 000. She didn't want to give more information and I explained I needed to documents to ensure this is what I was looking for I was explained that I needed to take the cover in order for me to receive the documents and if not happy there's a 21 day cancelation period so I agreed. This all happened between the 1st to the 9th July 2019

So I received my policy documents and started reading I then discovered my grandfather was not covered, there's two different premiums. R244 for myself and partner and for my extended family R488 this was not explained. I also discovered my extended family was only covered for different amounts.

I then called in last week Monday to cancel and I was told they have a cancelation policy and that they can't assist me. I asked for a Manger to call me back after I expressed my anger and rage regarding the sales lady and all her lies and asked if they could trace my call to listen to the lies I was told but no one got back to me.

They then had the nerve to send me an sms stating the premium will be going off this week.

I hate the fact that I was **** to and now I can't cancel the policy because they feel I owe them something

Good day  We acknowledge receipt of your complaint and would like to sincerely apologise for the service rendered by our sales consultant, and for any inconvenience, this may have caused you.  We confirm that we have assessed the call between you and our sales consultant and assure you this is not the level of service we aim to provide our clients.  The matter has been escalated to the necessary Manager for resolution.  With regards to the cancellation of the policy, we have explained that a 30 day notice period is required to cancel the  debit order with the  bank.  We have since cancelled the policy as per request.  We trust you find this in order, however, should you require any further assistance in this regard, please feel free to contact us again.  Yours sincerely,  Compliance Department
