False marketing & Misrepresentation
In July 2014 I wrote to Clientele regarding the policy that I had taken out under their IFA network The policy was sold to me as an investment policy. The policy was taken out in June 2013 and it was introduced to me as a savings plan where I can put my money away and encash it later in time of need. To my surprise in July 2014 when I contacted Clientele only to cancel the IFA network and to encash my funds I learnt that my policy was broken down into two segments, one being the savings benefit and the other being a life cover benefit. I was misled to believe that I was taking out a policy purely for savings. I requested for this to be cancelled and comp**** with their requirements, sent them a written request. Clientele continued to debit my account month after month. I even went as far as contacting my bank to had these debit orders returned but they never stopped debiting nor did they reimburse me with the money that I had already paid them since inception. I requested to have matter escalated or to lodge a formal complain their consultants told me that I am not allowed to do so.
