Clientele robocall harassment

Good day,

I have been getting harassed by Clientele robocalls for a few months now and I am not a client of theirs.

I block the numbers that they use constantly, however they just change the number and try again.

The number of calls per day ranges from 1 - about 7 despite my efforts to be removed as is my right as these calls are unsolicited.

I have attempted calling Clientele several times only to be told that it will be dealt with and then called again an hour later. When calling back I am told that there is nobody working there with the name I was given.

There is never Management staff available when calling in, miraculously, so the matter never escalates to a higher level.

I managed to get an email address to send my complaint and that seemed to work for about 3 weeks, now the calls have started again. I mentioned in my email request that the next steps will be to either make contact with the relevant ombudsman, or alternatively, open a case of harassment with the South African Police Service.

The Consumer Protection Act makes provision for data, and this is therefore an infringement on my privacy.

These calls must stop.
