Clientele representative are not honest and should be disbarred.

On the 26th of February 2025 I went to Ndofaya mall (shopping center) in Meadowlands Soweto, I was approached by their representative named Caroline (forgot the surname). She pleaded to do a pre-application for me even after I had told her that I am not employed nor interested and that I had opened an account a few years ago but it was later inactive because I couldn't afford the policy. She kept on insisting and also said if ever they are to deduct for some reason, they will have to call me for confirmation first and eventually told her to check me on the system and she found my details but was written inactive and I told her to leave it at that because I am currently unemployed and can't afforded right now.

Then Fast forward a day or two later I got a SMS welcoming me as a policy holder which was alarming because this was only supposed to check me on the system and then leave it at that, okay fine I forget about it and the last night which was the 25th of March 2025 an amount of R346 or so was deducted from my account, question is how does that happen without my go ahead ?

I was uneasy about the whole thing and tried to contact clientele life on WhatsApp to cancel the policy they said, I have to call them, I tried calling but placed me on hold until my airtime was finished and then I had to drive to Ndofaya mall to go speak to the supervisor that was there who went by the name Ntombi who did not mention her surname, who was shocked but didn't really help me as well.

I am a very angry customer and would like a refund of my money and permanently deactivate my account with Clientele.

yours sincerely Thato Mkasibe

Dear Thato M,

We hereby acknowledge receipt of your complaint, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

As per our telephonic discussion with Lerato Putuka, the policy was still within a Cooling off period and the refund process was explained to you by our Client Services department.

We trust you find this in order, however, should you wish to contact us again please do not hesitate to do so.

Regards,
