Clientele Life - Unsolicited sales calls on private cell phones. Blatantly flouting POPIA
Unsolicited calls on my cell phone in violation of POPI Act. I am not a client and the agent refused to tell me how they got my phone number. The agent sent me an opt out form which requires me to enter cell phone number and email address. Why must I provide personal information and opt out of something I never opted into. This is a disgraceful and intrusive sales tactic.

22 Mar 2022, 09:49Since writing this complaint, I have received repeated telephone calls on my cell phone as well as SMS messages addressing me as ''Dear client" asking me to contact you. I think you have misunderstood this complaint and your response is TONE DEAF. I have NO existing product or relationship with your company I do not want to receive telephone calls from you. I AM NOT A CLIENT AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CONTACT ME. If there is a legitimate product or service related reason to contact me please do so professionally in the manner that our contract stipulates. If you have ************ly and *********ly sourced my contact details from a data base provided to you by another company that I have a legitimate relationship with then you are in violation of the POPI Act. How did you get my contact details? I have tried to call the telephone number provided in the SMS *** and got the error message that the number does not exist. The call centre number *** has several options but non that are relevant to me a non-client. I tried the WhatsApp number provided only to receive a message stating that by using the WhatsApp line I consent to Clientele Life using my personal data which I do not do. Please remove me from your contact list and stop harassing me.
