poor service

I met one of the clientele sales agents and she asked for my help or support then I was like let me hear her out. She asked me a couple of questions and told me about their their "amazing rewards" I will get with their policy. Then I told her I cant and wouldn't be able to afford their policy because I am a student, unemployed therefore wont be able to afford any of their policies. She then asked that "if I was working" which policy (for market research purposes and that's how I will be supporting her) would I choose if I had the means to support her" then I said I would choose Legal. then she asked for my bank card and I.D card ( I gave them to her under the illusion that it was for marketing research purposes, in a way supporting her and I have nothing to lose) then I asked her multiple times that my money wont be taken she said " Yes" multiple times that "no money will be taken from my bank account and that Clientele would have to call you first to confirm if me as a client I really wanted the policy."

A month later Clientele Legal took R265 from my account then two days later I called them to ask for the cancellation of the policy and asked for a refunded they agreed and the company said I would be refunded within 30 days (that hasn't happened) then I sent an email to explain the situation and their automated email response said within 2 working days my email will be responded 2 but 3 working days later I am still waiting on their response

sum it up 1. lying sales agent 2. expensive runaround both in time and money 3. The company does not keep its word

what I want is 1. my refund

Dear Mus O,

We confirm that we made contact with you to discuss the concerns raised. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

As per our telephonic discussion, feedback regarding the cancellation of your policy has been provided.

With reference to the concerns raised on the premium deducted for the policy in question, it was explained that we do require a notice of at least 31 days to no longer submit any debit orders with your bank and that the refund process was not explained to you when the policy was cancelled.

Furthermore, upon contacting you we explained the refund process and you confirmed that you were satisfied with the feedback.

It is unfortunate that you have decided to terminate our services, should you wish to continue with the policy we encourage you to urgently contact us and we will gladly welcome you back as a valued client.

We would like to thank you for the feedback provided to us, we highly appreciate it and we assure you that it has been escalated to the relevant management team.

We however do understand your frustration and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely,

Judith Mboweni
