Paying money for no service

After seeing the promising ads on tv about clientele I took out a clientele legal policy in 2016 and took out the highest rate on the legal policy at the said time- R280.00- When i needed assistance with a matter with my landlord- I could not be assisted. Now that i need assistance with my divorce i am told that they can only help me with an uncontested divorce and if it is a contested one then they can refer me to an external lawyer at an affordable rate? What service am I exactly paying for? Conveniantly the policy price rose to R308.00 now. Very easy to debit my account for the fees but when i need assistance then i dont qualify. Please re-imburse me with all my monies i have paid thus far as clearly i have just been paying for your adverts on TV rather than for a service to me!

This is what you will be paying for when taking out their policy:

Dear Madam

We tried contacting you on even date and left a voicemail message.

We have received your Hello Peter complaint and would have preferred to discuss same with you telephonically.

Landlord / Eviction Matter :

You reported the above matter to our offices seeking legal advice in regard to your Landlord giving you a month notice to vacate his premises and also the Landlord has breach the verbal lease agreement by not affecting repairs to the property.

Kindly be advised that one of our legal advisors contacted you and advised as follows: The Landlord can terminate the Lease agreement provided that same is done within the boundaries of the Law. Further we explained to you that the Landlord need to provide you with one months calendars notice which will equipped you with time to find alternative accommodation. The landlord in turn need to pay your rental deposit within 14 days of you vacating the premises.

Legally, there is nothing we can do to force the Landlord to retract the termination of the lease agreement unless special conditions exists. If you have further monetary claims against the Landlord and then same need to dealt with in a different manner and most importantly the Landlord had to agree to affect repairs and he will compensate you for same. If the Landlord didn't agree to this then you cannot claim any repairs money from the Landlord.

Further you reported a Divorce matter to our offices. You enquired as to the steps to follow to initiate a Divorce.

We have advised via email that we cover Uncontested Divorces only (provided that you qualify after due merit assessment). What that means is that if you and your spouse both agree that you want to Divorce then same becomes uncontested and you will sign a settlement agreement. Contested Divorces is where there is no agreement and is excluded from Cover and we will refer you to our Panel Attorneys against a discounted rate for your own costs.

Upon joining Clientele Legal we provide our clients with a Welcome message where you received a link and you can view our policy terms and conditions. We also send the Legal Policy documents to clients and we post the member card to the address provided to by our clients.

We have noted that we send you the Legal Policy Documents on commencement of this policy . Further we have noted on 24 October 2016 you requested that we send the Legal policy documents again and we did same upon your request. Therefore, it is very important for each and every client to read through our Policy terms and conditions to ensure that you aware of our specific exclusions herein.

We have to advised that on both reported matters to our offices we provided the necessary advice within the perimeters of your legal policy.

Further unfortunately we cannot affect a refund of premiums herein. You can advise our offices when you are available and we will gladly contact you to discuss the above information.

Hope the above is in order.

Just paying for words and words no help!!!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THESE PEOPLE! Would never reccomend you to anyone

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

We do understand your frustration but we assisted you within the terms and conditions of your Legal policy.

Please note that we have unfortunately not been able to assess your Divorce matter, due to the allocated advisor not being in a position to obtain detailed instructions from you. Kindly refer to the email forwarded to you on 4th August 2017. It is very important to manage your expectations in terms of cover and have therefore informed you that cover will not be provided should the matter become disputed.
