Not Honoring A Client's Decision To Cancel A Policy

On the 12th of January 2022, I informed Clientele via their email address - ***, that I want to cancel my policy with immediate effect. I did receive an automated reply that the email was received. However, they did not honor my request and failed to cancel the policy. On the 20th of January 2022, they yet again debited by account. On the same day I informed my bank that I would like to reverse the debit order seeing that I have informed Clientele that I wanted to cancel the policy with immediate effect. So here comes the interesting part, I was informed by my bank that Clientele placed a block on the reversal - a stern warning for future clients I may say, I never knew this could be done prior to dealing with Clientele. To add to my dismay, there was no reversal block on the December premium - which clearly indicate that they did receive my cancellation request in January, did not honor my request and then even went as far as activating a reversal block on the premium of the 20th of January 2022. On Saturday the 22nd of January 2022, I received a call from Clientele, wanting to sell another product. I explained to the sales agent that I have cancelled the policy and am not interested in any other products. I even, CLEARLY, wasted my time explaining to him that I have cancelled my policy, and that there was even a debit order reversal block created on the January 2022 debit, which in my opinion, prove that they did receive my cancellation request, did not honor my decision, knew that should I be debited again, I will reverse the payment, and therefor activated the "reversal block". This morning THEY YET AGAIN DEDUCTED MONIES FROM MY ACCOUNT. Come on Clientele, is it not your responsibility as a legal company to at least treat your clients', regardless of their requests, with respect. And I know that there is most probably a block activated to reverse the debit. Please be herewith informed, with Hello Peter and its patrons as my witnesses, THAT I HAVE CANCELLED THE POLICY ON THE 12TH OF JANUARY 2022. AS STATED IN MY EMAIL, MY DECISION IS NON NOGETIABLE. CAN I KINDLY BEG YOU TO HONOR AND RESPECT MY DECISION AND PAY BACK MY MONEY. This is rather disgraceful taking into consideration that you are supposed to be a law abiding entity. Sies man !!!!

With reference to the concerns raised regarding your cancellation request, we explained that your cancellation request was well received by our offices and that the policy remained in force due to reasons that our attempts to contact you to assist with your request resulted in no success. We confirmed that your policy has now been canceled and the cancellation process was explained accordingly.

Upon contacting you, we further explained the refund process and you confirmed that you are now satisfied with the feedback.

Furthermore, it is important to understand that Debicheck is used by banks in South Africa to confirm the agreement you may have with service providers. It can be done electronically or with your respective bank.

It is unfortunate that you have decided to terminate our services and we value the feedback provided to us. Should you wish to continue with the policy we encourage you to urgently contact us and we will gladly welcome you back as a valued client.
