Wrong medication given
Good day, I would like to raise a formal complaint regarding an incident that occurred at your branch this morning involving my prescribed medication. I sent my husband to collect my prescribed Probitor 20mg capsules. When he approached the pharmacist, he specifically asked for the medication on my prescription. The pharmacist informed him that the Probitor prescription had expired and explained that she could only dispense 14 capsules. However, despite the conversation clearly being about my medication for acid reflux, she mistakenly dispensed Ativan, which is a completely different medication. My husband only realised the mistake after returning home. He immediately went back to the store to explain what had happened and to return the incorrect medication. Unfortunately, instead of acknowledging the dispensing error, the staff refused to refund the money paid for the Ativan and required him to pay again for the 14 Probitor capsules. I find this extremely disappointing and unacceptable. My husband clearly told the pharmacist that he was there to collect my medication for acid reflux, yet the wrong medication was still dispensed. It is therefore unfair to expect me, especially while I am currently unemployed, to pay for medication that I did not request and do not need. To make matters worse, when my husband returned to the branch, another pharmacist dealt with him in an unpleasant manner and placed the responsibility on him for supposedly taking the wrong medication, despite him having clearly explained what medication he was collecting. I already have a full bottle of Ativan from my previous prescription, so I have absolutely no use for the additional medication that was incorrectly dispensed. I am therefore requesting a full refund for the Ativan that was dispensed in error. I would appreciate this matter being investigated properly and resolved fairly. Mistakes can happen, but when medication is involved, they should be taken seriously, and the customer should not be made to carry the financial burden of a dispensing error. I have been a customer of this branch, but unfortunately, after today's experience and the way the situation was handled, I will no longer be comfortable using this branch for my medication. I look forward to your response and to having the amount refunded.
