Wrong medication dispensed

The following is the content of a mail I sent to Clicks a week ago. Giving the wrong medicine to a patient is about as dangerous an incident that a pharmacy can get involved in, yet to date no word from Clicks about this incident. Seems they don't take it seriously. On Saturday 5 October 2019 we went to the Clicks dispensary in Cresta Centre to fetch our monthly supply of chronic medicine as we received notification that it is ready for collection.

The medicine was already packed and sealed in bag so we just had to sign for it.

When we got home and opened the packaging we found 2 containers with Adco-Alzam 0,5 mg amongst our medication. According to the labels on the containers this medication was intended for a Mr. Michael Atkinson.

The thing is that because of the similarities in the names of the medication, we could have unknowingly have taken the wrong modification with some serious side effects such as drowsiness, lack of balance and coordination problems. Think of the consequences if we were driving a motor vehicle and these side effects kicked in.

Depending on your response to this, I will decide to let it rest or take it further.
