Worst Pharmacist: Clicks VA Waterfront

The clicks pharmacy at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is poorly run to the extent that no one knows anything about their systems, procedures and the basics of pharmacy.

I visited their pharmacy last week Saturday (29 March 2025) with a prescription for methylphenidate - 60 pills, 10mg twice a day.

However, they could only provide me with 6 pills at the time (for three days). I was told that the rest (54) pills would be ordered and I would obtain them on Monday, 31 March 2025. I was told to pay the entire amount, which I did.

I visited the branch again on Tuesday, 01 April 2025 believing that my medication would be there. However, to no avail. They still did not have stock, which begs the question - was it ordered and what measures did they take to ensure that I as a patient receive the product I had already paid for?

On the same day, they provided me with a full refund. This was only after more than an hour of a run around as none of the pharmacists there know how their systems work. The fact that I have already been given a full refund proves this because when I got home, I realized that it doesn't make sense to give someone a full refund if they have already consumed 6 pills. Meaning as it stands, I owe clicks a payment for 6 pills. Pure incompetence.

I was told to go to Clicks Glengarrif because they had stock, and on Thursday, 3 April 2025 that's exactly what I did. I do so at m cost and during my lunch period. Big mistake, because the pharmacist and Clicks Glengarrif explained to me that it is ******* for Clicks Waterfront to partially dispense schedule 6 medication and then send a patient to obtain the rest at another pharmacy. Another example of the incompetence and lack of knowledge portrayed by Clicks Waterfront.

I then went to back to them on Friday, 04 April 2025, and spent another pointless hour while they spent the time not knowing what to do. They called the manager who then stated that they should provide me with the non-generic prescription, Ritalin. An example of poor leadership because this was also found to be out of stock. She then ignored her staff who made countless attempts to contact her regarding the matter.

I was once again told that they would order the medication and that it would arrive today, Saturday, 05 April 2025. They told me they would contact me. After not being contacted well within the day, I decided to contact THEM instead. As you would guess, they said the stock did not arrive and would only arrive on Monday.

Now, I write an important exam on Monday. This medication was prescribed to me for a reason. This incompetence is having a real impact on my livelihood
