Worst customer experience! Humiliation at Clicks
Hi, I would like to lodge a complaint against Clicks. This has been a humiliating and traumatizing experience for myself and my partner.
We visited the store 2 weeks ago. I shop there quite often. I walked in straight to the pharmacy and then to the till. At no point did I enter the make up isle or even come close to it. When leaving the security beeped which I was then asked to empty the contents of my handbag. I had an eyeliner that I purchased in September from clicks that was still sealed in my handbag and that what caused it to beep when I walked out.
I asked them to check the barcode as proof as I assumed each item has a different barcode. I then asked them to check the security footage as proof that the eyeliner belonged to me but they refused to do so.
They then called the manager who was extremely rude and arrogant, speaking over me and even asked if I usually carry sealed eyeliners in my bag accusing me of *****ing. She then asked for my clicks card and with that they confirmed that yes indeed I did purchase the eyeliner in September from clicks. This went on from there where the security and staff **** to me which was confirmed by the complaints department that I later contacted. The staff informed me that every single item in my bag included all my make up and even the opened chocolate they saw in my handbag needed to be declared before entering the store. I've shopped there many times and have never done this therefore I knew this was a lie. This was confirmed on call recording when I called the complaints department.
At this point we had been at the store for around 45 minutes while people stared at us as *******. Both myself and my partner are educators and there were parents and students in the store at the time of this incident which caused a dent in our reputation.
I asked for the manager to come back out and apologize and she refused to do so even after finding out that the eyeliner did indeed belong to me.
At this point even after finding out that this was my property the guard still held on to it, I had to go up to him and actually ask for my own property back.
This was extreme negligence on the part of Clicks as they were supposed to remove whatever causes their sensors to beep after purchasing and paying for an item. I have sent several complaints emails and various calls detailing this horrific incident - defamation of character as there were people that knew us in the store at that time. Had clicks followed proper protocol this would have never happened.
The manager even informed at some point that she is going to report me! Which is unbelievable as this was my own property.
After several emails with their legal team they still refuse to take responsibility and compensate me for the humiliation, trauma and wasted time.
They **** about their company procedures. Humiliated me. Refused to apologize. Caused a doubt in my reputation and still refuse to take accountability for their negligence. No store should be allowed to treat any customer this way.
