Useless Clicks Club Card
Good day, I was offered a Clicks Clubcard by Clicks and I took it because they told me that I can earn points by filling up @ Engen. Because we fill up a lot, I took the card and they said that for every liter I will earn a point. This sounded great and I took the card. After a few months I thought I must have a lot of money available on my card and to my surprise, my balance was 0. I had to phone the service department as nobody in the store at East Rand Mall could assist. The service department told me I had to send proof that the purchases took place, that a fleet card was not used and that I swiped my Clicks club card. This wasted a lot of my time, but I did and "some" money was added to my card. Over the next couple of months the money got less and after only 2 amounts were added to my account, it all stopped. Once again I phoned and we were back at square one. I had to proof that the purchases took place etc. etc. I was so furious because they then explained that they convert the points and for every 10 points yo get R1. After investigating I saw a small little message on their website saying that is how it works. So in reality, for every 10 liters that will cost you R267.40 you will get R1. So the R71.20 I received, I had to spend R1883.055. This is not what they told me the day they offered me the card. Who do you think will spend that amount of money, going out of their way to earn R71.20? It cost me more getting to an Engen garage. I was so upset that I contacted Engen and told them there must be a problem as this can not be true. What happened next is really laughable if it was not so ridiculous. Engen advised me that they put a hold on my card and was not adding my points as my card was flagged for spending too much money with them??????? Well I asked them to put this writing to me as I could not believe that I got penalized instead of rewarded for spending money with them. A very rude lady from Engen told me that in the terms and condition it states that you can't spend more than R3500 on a transaction so they've stopped all my transactions. They then send me an e-mail and asked me to explain what I was doing with all the fuel. I paid for it!!! Did everything I was asked to do by Clicks and now have to explain why I was buying so much. If I made thousand out of Engen or Clicks, I can understand it, but it cost me more than I received from them to buy their petrol. They never notified me, contacted me and see this as a resolved matter. I'm the guilty party for buying from them and swiping my card. I contacted the owner of the Service Station where I filled up and he thought I was joking. I never used a fleet card, always swiping my club card and filled up at Engen. They had the edacity to ask me if they should now add the points onto my card. I want everybody to know that the club card is useless and Engen will not see me again.
