Unsatisfactory service at Clicks Gateway!!!

So, I went to Clicks gateway and bought an item but then, I was not given the receipt. I only realized this after having reached my destination. I however, needed the receipt as the item I bought is a present and will require the receipt should the person want to exchange it. Phoned Clicks less than an hour after purchasing but was told there is nothing they could do. Surely, if I know the exact time I used my credit card to pay (as I received an sms from the bank), I would assume that they would be able to retrieve the receipt instead of just shutting me down. This is one of the reasons why I always use Dischem but they have better service and are always willing to help.
