******** abuse of customer

I recently had a horrific experience at the hands of Clicks security and their management. I had an item which I had purchased from another Clicks branch on a different occasion, in my bag. I had actually forgotten that it was in my bag as I have several different items purchased at various visits to the store. I walked into the store with no hassles... I was looking for a particular item that I could not find and not could I find a staff member to assist me. So I left the store. Upon leaving the security doors beeped. I was asked to empty the contents of my handbag and they insisted that there was a particular item with their Barcode on and I had ****** it because the doors did not beep when I walked in. I was embarrassed and humiliated in front of passers by and shoppers. The item was taken away and brought back with a second item where I was told that item was from that store. It wasn't even the same item!!!!! I protested, asked to see the cctv footage, asked for the manager... I was told they were too busy. From the store they took me to Centre management holding cells... Here I was threatened, intimidated and interrogated... This over an item just under a hundred rand. I pleaded with the Centre security to please fetch the manager and view the footage again... He obliged but on return he told me that they had refused and the police must come as they are charging me... All this without evidence. Eventually one of the centre security took the item back to the store and pleaded with them if I could pay for the item... A bribe in other words. Needless to say in my desperation I agreed to this as I am a single mother to two small children and was terrified at the thought of being I a cell for the night and my kids being alone. Clicks took 3 times the worth of the item and the item that I had paid for already from me. I was devastated. I'm shocked. How is it that there is still such injustice in this country. I was branded guilty... Without evidence or a chance to plead my case.... They forced me to pose for a photograph and insisted that if I didn't it would be to my detriment. Apparently I'm no longer allowed to be seen in that particular mall as its considered trespassing. I am seriously considering going the legal route with this... I'm not sure what the security guards motive was... ******, ***ism... I don't know but I am truly humiliated and embarrassed and disgusted at this wretched behavior...
