Unhelpful, rude and arrogant Pharmacists
Tonight I visited your Clicks Pharmacy at West Coast Village, West Beach / Table View.
I waited in line like any other person, keeping my distance. My ticket nr 625 was called to counter 4 where a Pharmacist asked if she can help me.
I am new in Cape Town, recently relocated and have been trying to get an appointment with a Psychiatrist at West Beach Clinic for a month now but they have me on a waiting list. As my Anti-Psychotic medication was running low I requested an urgent appointment which till date, and due to the Corona Disaster have not realised as of yet.
On Sunday I used my very last medication and in desperation I contacted my Psychiatrist in Pretoria to assist me with a prescription that was emailed to me and a gave a copy to the Pharmacist on duty.
Immediately, without even listening or being willing to listen to reason she told me she cannot assist with a copy. I only needed 3 items out of the 6 on the prescription - the bare essentials to see me through this period until I can get an appointment with the Psychiatrist here.
Given the unusual and desperate circumstances one would expect some assistance even just to see the next 21 days through but all I was met with was a hostile Pharmacist not even willing to talk the the Doctor to explain the situation. rude and arrogant - truly not what I would expect from a Healthcare worker.
As a Major Depression sufferer with severe Anxiety I need my medication. I needed assistance which I could not get. Your Pharmacist only made my anxiety worse which resulted in an anxiety attack which again resulted in my husband being called to come out to help calm me down - and I was still without any medication.
I cannot explain my disappointment in the Clicks Pharmacist during these unusual times and circumstances.
I was totally embarrassed in front of other patrons with the treatment I received.
I have been a loyal supporter of Clicks for many years but this incident has caused that I will never again support any Clicks Pharmacy again.
