Unhappy ex customer

I have shopped at Clicks for many years , my scripts are also with them . I went into Clicks Bellairs today to exchange a gift I had received , the person had told me that it was purchased from Clicks and Clicks is one of 2 stores that stock thus item .

I was told by the supervisor, manager , area manager that I couldn’t as I didn’t have a slip !! I rep**** who gives z receipt with a present and I as I’m sure other people would not like to contact the person who gave them the gift ( unless it was family )as it would be perceived as being rude .

The item is worth approximately R120 !!! It’s not the money I’m upset about but about the attitude in not trying to assist a customer half way - I was asked if I had the persons club card number , I said no , however I could give the persons name name to check on her Clicks card , I was asked if I knew about the POPI act , I rep**** yes I do but why ask me for the number ? And when I don’t have it I offer to give the name of the person.!

I was also advised the auditors would ask questions ? You’ve got the item , I get a credit and purchase something else everything is documented?!?

Any way I left and said to myself once my scripts have expired , I will be taking that part of my business elsewhere furthermore I won’t purchase gifts from Clicks in future as I don’t want the recipient of the gift to go through what I did if they wish to exchange the item .
