Unempathetic Amalinda Manager

I went to Clicks in Amalinda yesterday to collect my son's prescription,he was on a Spar trolley because I forgot his leash. As I was waiting for my ticket to be called, Sakhiwo told me that the Spar trollies are not allowed at Clicks (I understood that). I then asked him nicely if I could be an exception because my son is Autistic & I couldn't leave him in the car because I didn't have anyone to leave him with.

His response was that if he allows me to use the Spar trolley,other customers would also want to do their shopping using the Spar trollies. How many children that are Autistic or with other disorders or disabilities that are put on a trolley on a daily basis? There aren't any that he knows of because he is very ********.

I had to carry walk around the shop with my son who wanted chocolates because they were at his disposal. I don't want him to eat sweets because he is hyperactive. I could not control his behaviour because he wanted everything from the water to the drinks.

I was frustrated & decided to put him on my shoulders with the assistance of another customer at the pharmacy ( he is 5,weighing 45 kgs & I am weighing 70 kgs). It was only the pharmacy staff that assisted me when they saw that I was crying & the child was heavy on me. One of the ladies went to fetch the trolley I came with by the door.

Where does Clicks get such managers like Sakhiwo, who are ********, misinformed & unempathetic? I explained my problem to him,he did not understand it or chose to ignore my request. If it is a case of not knowing what Autism is, he should have asked me to explain it to him.

Who doesn't know that there are children with special needs who is working in Amalinda? I would have understood his ignorance or lack of knowledge if he was in the rural areas. People in rural areas don't Autism but they can see a child with special needs & offer assistance where they can & are very empathetic.

Seeing that I am not allowed to go with him in the store in a trolley, should I stop fetching the medication in Clicks Amalinda? There will be an instance in the next 6 months that I won't have someone to leave him with. I have been fetching his treatment in Amalinda for the past 3 years, even security guards understand my request when I was told that trollies are not allowed but a whole manager doesn't understand that.

I am not sure whether the reason he behaved like this because he is a man who lacks a lot & he is not in touch with the world that we live in but there is definitely something wrong with him. How many children has he been at Clicks that have stickers (name tag with cellphone number) on their clothes? None. Seeing a sticker on my son's jersey should have told him something, I am sure he didn't see that. Unfortunately, I can't write autistic on his forehead so that people like Sakhiwo (any tom,**** & harry) can see that he is autistic.
