Think twice before purchasing AO SEPT Plus stocked at Clicks
I use soft contact lenses for more than 20 years and always use Renu contact solution. You clean, rinse, put in lenseholder and next day you insert the lenses.
Due to i.e. the looting (I suppose), all the Clicks' were out of stock and I could not buy any Renu. They stock a product, manufactured by Alcon Laboratories, AO SEPT Plus, which I bought I tried for the first time.
It is a more expensive product than Renu. I bought the 90ml bottle solution of AO SEPT Plus.
The directions for use on the box and bottle comes down to, rinse, place in holder for minimum 6 hours, insert.
I cleaned, rinse, put in holder and when I inserted the one contact lens it burnt as if acid was put in my eye! I though I was going blind. My eye were burning and red for 3 days and I had to throw away my last pair of contact lenses.
I googled the product and it seems that it is a acid based product and you may not get it directly in your eyes! It has to be neutralized with another solution.
Unbelievable that a contact lens cleaning solution may be harmful for your eyes in the event it comes in contact with your eyes!
It does not come with either a warning or the neutralizing agent.
