Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Pharmacy and Store Service
Dear Clicks Chatsworth Team,
I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding my recent experience at your pharmacy and store. I am extremely disappointed with the level of service and the issues I encountered, which pose a significant risk to customer health and safety.
1. Expired or Nearly Expired Medication: I was dispensed a Deselex syrup (150ml) that was manufactured in March 2023 and is set to expire in February 2025 — just two months from now. I explicitly requested medication with a longer shelf life, as this is not the first time this has happened at your store. Giving customers medication that is close to expiry, especially for a seven-year-old child, is not only unacceptable but highly irresponsible. This negligence puts my child’s health at risk, potentially leading to medication poisoning.
2. Lack of Urgency in Service: The waiting time at the pharmacy exceeded 15–20 minutes, which was unreasonable given the circumstances. On top of this, we were double-charged at the till, adding to our frustration.
3. No Invoice Provided: Despite spending over R1,600 on medication, I was not given an invoice. This lack of documentation is unacceptable and inconvenient for tracking purchases or raising issues.
4. Additional Inconveniences: Due to the delay and other issues, I had to purchase a packet for my son to vomit in, which added to an already distressing experience.
This situation has left me questioning the competence and professionalism of your staff. Why is expired or close-to-expired medication still on your shelves? Why was there no urgency or attention to detail in handling customer concerns?
I demand an immediate response and resolution to this matter. I insist on being contacted by the Regional Manager to discuss these issues further.
Please understand the seriousness of this complaint. Selling nearly expired medication, particularly for children, is a grave mistake that could have serious consequences. I trust that you will take swift action to address these concerns.
I await your prompt response.
Yours sincerely, An Annoyed Mother!
