*********** Staff, Errors in prescriptions, claiming the costs of errors from medical funds without informing clients.

Review of Clicks Parkview**

As a client of Medshield Medical Aid and forced to make use of Clicks, my experience with Clicks Parkview has been extraordinarily disappointing, especially considering my family member's ongoing health challenges as a diabetic. The obligation to utilize Clicks’ services has become a source of frustration and concern rather than assistance.

Things for us at a Clicks store took a serious turn when we experienced a significant incident that impacted our decision to use a Clicks ever again due to a medication error from a different Clicks branch, my family member faced a health crisis that required hospitalization. Although this incident was not directly linked to Clicks Parkview, it underscored deep concerns about the overall reliability of the Clicks network. Despite my efforts to communicate these issues to Clicks Parkview, I found the staff to be dismissive, and there was little follow-up or accountability on their part.

Over the past six months of being obligated to use Clicks, we have faced consistent challenges. The waiting times are often excessively long, sometimes requiring us to wait over an hour just to speak with a pharmacist. Additionally, the store’s inventory issues meant that essential medications and supplies were frequently out of stock, leading to additional delays and stress.

From our very first visit to Clicks Parkview, it was clear that this pharmacy was not equipped to handle the unique needs of patients with chronic conditions. There was a notable lack of awareness and understanding of diabetes management among the staff, which created immediate concerns about medication safety and effectiveness.

I recently had a very frustrating experience at Clicks Parkview, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. My interactions with this pharmacy have been riddled with issues that have raised serious doubts about their professionalism and customer care.

Firstly, my experience with chronic medication has been particularly troubling. We discovered that we were charged a co-payment that equaled the total cost of the medication, which was later revealed to be a result of a double charge. Despite the inconvenience and stress this caused, Clicks initially made no effort to rectify the situation until we escalated the matter. It took significant time and effort to receive a refund, highlighting a noticeable lack of attention to detail in their billing practices.

Moreover, the inconsistency in co-payments from month to month for the same prescription is both confusing and concerning. One would expect a certain level of stability and predictability when managing chronic medication, but instead, we are left guessing what our financial obligation will be each time.

The issue of medication shortages is another major flaw in their service. It has become a common occurrence for our prescribed medication to be unavailable without any proactive communication from the pharmacy. We routinely have to follow up, often we are forced to make a trips to follow up on the availability of the shortage only to find that they already received the stock we need but never informed us. This lack of communication is unacceptable and adds to the stress of managing a chronic condition.

Perhaps the most alarming issue has been the consistent errors in our prescriptions, particularly concerning insulin. We have received the incorrect type multiple times, and instead of taking responsibility, Clicks has tried to claim the costs from our medical funds without informing us. This is not only ethically questionable but also poses serious health risks. It's infuriating to open a prescription at home and find discrepancies that should have been caught by the pharmacy staff.

On top of these systemic issues, I have found the attitude of some staff members, particularly Marvin and Doreen, to be incredibly unprofessional. Their lack of customer service skills is evident; they come across as unfriendly and dismissive, which only amplifies the frustrations we’ve experienced.

In conclusion, my experiences at Clicks Parkview have been overwhelmingly negative. The combination of billing errors, inconsistent supply of medications, prescription mistakes, and the professionalism of the staff is a huge concerned to all customers.

While I am forced by my medical aid to make use of Clicks medication and pharmacy services, I cannot recommend Clicks Parkview to anyone who requires reliable and responsive care, especially those managing chronic illnesses like diabetes. My experience has prompted a strong desire to seek alternatives, despite the restrictions placed on us by our medical aid. I sincerely hope that Clicks can address these issues in the future to provide better service for their clients in general.
