Safeway Damaged Hair Dryer

On Thursday 29th May 2025 I bought a Safeway hairdryer at Clicks Greenstone Mall. When i got home, I plugged it in but there was no sound, nothing at all. I then realized that the cable is damaged. I took it back today, Saturday but I was told they need to investigate because they do not believe that the dryer is 2 days old, they said they unfortunately do not believe me because people do "things". I asked what is it that I could have possibly done to the dryer, I bought it because I needed it for goodness sake! I'm extremely furious and disappointed by this, the inconvenience, now I must wait for an "investigation" and if they already insinuating that they don't believe me, how do I trust that the investigating will be done thoroughly? Can due diligence be done please, starting from who packed that dryer in the box, was it checked and tested before placing it on the shelf??! I need someone who can assist with this case thoroughly and urgently please!
