R500 Gone and Management Says ‘Do What You Want!

Absolutely disgusted by the service received at Clicks Stanger Ushaka Mall, 8 Haysom Road. My sister visited the store on 15 May 2026 and purchased two gift cards — one for R300.00 for my daughter and one for R500.00 for my mother. The cashier, Phiwamandla, insisted that the gift cards be paid for separately, which she did.

The R300.00 gift card worked perfectly, but the R500.00 gift card showed a balance of R0.00 despite being fully paid for — and yes, we have the receipt as proof. To make matters worse, we later discovered that the cashier had put the incorrect gift card number on the receipt.

My mother and I then went back to the store to resolve the issue, only to be met with shocking incompetence and terrible customer service from management. The manager was completely unhelpful, dismissive, and even told us to “do what we want.” That kind of attitude toward paying customers is unacceptable.

My sister lives in Pretoria, which makes resolving this even more difficult because we do not have access to her Clicks card details. Instead of assisting us professionally, the store showed absolutely no interest in fixing their mistake.

If this is the level of service Clicks provides, then I honestly have no hope for this branch or the company in general. Customers deserve better than careless staff, incorrect processing of transactions, and rude management.
