Product reliablity

A Safeway toaster was given to my wife a number of years ago by her mother.<br> We however at the time had a toaster so this Safeway toaster was put into storage.<br> Recently our old toaster packed up so we took out the Safeway toaster.<br> We used it once and it then packed up. The toaster may be old but it is effectively brand new.<br> I sent a mail to Clicks and their response is below.<br> <br> \ We wish to advise that electrical products are covered by a twelve month guarantee. Kindly note that Safeway is an imported brand we unfortunately do not have a repair agent in the country. We normally replace the product after it has been tested in store and if the product is still covered by the guarantee."<br> <br> So any Safeway product is only good for one year after that throw it away.
