Pretty Baloyi - Ferndale on Republic

It's not very often that one receives great service that is worthy of a compliment - well, at least not in my case. So when an opportunity arises, it’s important to note it.

My partner and I often frequent Clicks Ferndale on Republic for our monthly toiletry shopping. A while back, a common occurrence at this branch was that the prices on the shelves will not always correspond to the prices rung up and neither will they be excluded at the end of the transaction like we were often promised by cashiers. Experiencing this, my fiancé and I grew wary and would insist on the cashiers ringing up each "special" as they transacted showing us the item had in fact been discounted as advertised. During this time, there was a cashier by the name of Pretty Baloyi who was different from all the other cashiers. Knowing that there was a definite problem with their system, she would ring up each item that was on special and show us the discount received on each transaction. She did this with the help of her manageress (whose name I unfortunately cannot recall) and the both of them made us feel so comfortable and even informed us of other specials that we may have been missed. I meant to leave a compliment but as time went on, I forgot the cashier’s name and did not have the receipt to remind me.

As time went on, the system was fixed and we didn’t have to feel as paranoid having to check each transaction. This Sunday, we had the pleasure of encountering Pretty Baloyi again. Remembering her face, I quickly noted her name and reminded myself that I will give a compliment to her manager/manageress. Not knowing that we had appreciated her last service, she continued in her professional manner, treating all of her customers with the same friendly demeanour. She even informed us of three specials that we had missed – this was really refreshing to us as we pride ourselves with being thorough but clearly we were having an off day! Thanks to Pretty, we did not miss out.

It’s really nice when people are passionate about customer service. I hope she receives some sort of recognition for her lovely service.
