Poor management
On Tuesday I visited Clicks Pharmacy Southdale, and I must say that the management in the pharmacy section is atrocious. I stood in the OTC line where there was one staff member member working as fast as she could limping and all whilst there were two people sitting at the prescription side. The line at the OTC counter was extremely long, however the lady helped at least four people while the pharmacy manager chatted away to an African lady. Once his conversation was over, he got up, took his phone and walked to the back instead of assisting with the OTC queue. He then proceeded to walk out of the pharmacy looking down at his phone as to not make eye contact with anyone on the OTC area and that is unacceptable, even upon his return, he commenced to the back without acknowledging us here at OTC. We don’t have all day, we also have dictated lunch times, and no this is not the case of coming in last minute and expecting to be helped immediately, I was in line well before my lunch hour was over. Conversations sparked within the queue regarding the managers behavior, when taking the matter to the staff member in OTC, she apologized for making me wait as she did with every other customer and mentioned that they were short staffed. Short staffed or not the lady worked promptly and efficiently and dealt with the queue as fast as she could, it seems as she was in between capturing stock as well. So my question is, why is there only one person physically working in the pharmacy??? Why is pharmacy management so poor in customer service??? Why can’t the other assistant help when it’s busy??? An injured person in a working environment where there is no assistance from a manager or team, who can still help customers with a smile, wow! Give that girl a raise!
