****phobic Pharmacy Manager at Clicks Kyalami
I visited a Clicks store in Kyalami to fill my prescription for the very first time. I got there and I was assisted by the Pharmacy manager, I pleased aswell because I thought I was in safe hands.
I proceeded to the counter to be assisted by Candice the manager. I said hi, and she rep**** back politely etc. then I told her the name of the medication I’m looking for and I said it’s schedule 5, please note I have a prescription for it. She said ok perfect, she started searching and we found out she had no stock. She asked if it’s ok for her to order the medication for me and I said yes. Then she said asked “Why do you need this medication”, if I may ask ? So because I thought I was in a safe space, I told her that I’m transgender and I was prescribed the medication. Her facial expression started to change, then she asked me if I’m sure I want the medication and if I’m sure about the decision I have taken then I said “yes” then she asked again, at this point I’m getting annoyed now “so I said to her, I’m not sure how you want me to answer your question. So I walked away angry because I didn’t understand why I had to get a lecture, attitude and judgement. After walking away I decided to go and speak to her about her actions and treatment, however she continued to insult and judgement by defending her actions and words. She even went ahead to disclose another patients information. By telling me that she was just trying to make sure that I’m sure because she had another patient who took the same decision as me and later came to regret it etc. So I said to her that’s none of my business and that’s not why I’m here. So said to me “Why are you angry”? What’s making you angry if you are sure about this decision ? Then she continued on about how she didn’t want me to regret my decision etc. this went on for about 15 min until I decided to walk away because I realized I was wasting my time, she was even smiling the entire time I was trying to talk to her and explain to her why I’m saying she offended me. She laughed at me when I said to her that I came back to speak to her directly instead of reporting her etc. what I don’t understand is how in 2019, Clicks SA still hires ****phobic people to work for them.
