Petty Clicks rules that ignore consumer laws.
I'm not surprised that there are so many negative ratings for Clicks! They should spend their ad money on customer relations. I am a Clicks Card member so I receive emails with their special offers. I received one for a Wahl beard trimmer. The ad claimed that it was "fully rechargeable". Cost R169.00 I went to Clicks Strand Pik n Pay Centre and bought what I assumed was the same product as the advert. Packing is identical to the advert. With exception of a small "new" label in red. When I opened the box there was no mention of the item being rechargeable. I then took the article back to the store and queried this. I had misplaced my till slip but they were able to confirm the purchase by looking up my Clicks Card details. After explaining the problem I asked that they either give me the advertised product or refund me for the item that I had purchased. So far so good. Product returned because it was not as advertised. My right as a consumer. BUT the manageress then went off to the back office and returned to tell me that even though they had proof that I had purchased the article they still didn't want to refund me. They did however say that I could do an exchange for something else in the store. The reason given by the manager (Rene Arend) that they couldn't refund me my purchase price was that I didn't have a hard copy of the till slip. The excuse given was that this was as per the accountant's instructions. Spend millions on advertising to get customers into your stores. Then your staff are so inflexible and unapologetic that customers get easily wooed to the opposition. These are tough economic times and customers will vote with their feet Clicks.
