Over charging of 3 for 2 specials

My son and his girlfriend bought the 3 for 2 D’licious Sweet Treats , chocolate coated Nougat, at Clucks Atlasville, Boksburg. His girlfriend had a budget and went into Clicks knowing how much she was supposed to spend. She bought 6 but at the till the amount she was charged was more than she calculated.

When she brought it the attention of the teller she said there is no mistake she got two for free of the 6 she bought and did not want to discuss the matter further . Megan again told the teller the amount should be less and then the teller started talking in her language and even spoke to the client behind Megan about the situation.

Megan left the till and explained to my son what happened and my son went to back to Clicks to check what happened.

He found an employee and asked for the manager to be able to explain if they are misunderstanding how the special works.

This person ignored him and only after a while accompanied him to the aisle where the nougat was.

It was explained that you buy 3 nougats and you get one for free m.

My son explained as his girlfriend tried to tell the teller they were over charged by R69.99. Instead of r279.99 they were charged 341.40 , which included a plastic bag.

It took this employee quite a while to figure out that my son was overcharged. The refund of R69.99 was given after about 15 minutes of my son trying to explain the maths to the Clicks employees.

There was no apology from the teller or the person who reluctantly assisted as well as the employee who had to come and do the override.

The other matter that is disappointing is why are employees speaking a language that a customer is unable to understand.
