On 25/23/2016, I bought a fitbit flex from Clicks in gateway Durban. (i had lost mine the day before - i needed a new one desperately). On the 11/01/2016 fitbit stopped working (just over two weeks old). Went to clicks on the 12/01/2016 to get it exchanged or a get a refund. The consumer act clearly states that if one is sold a product that is defective or of poor quality than the customer entitled to a refund or a replacement.

Clicks refused to do either, the manager Micheael Ntuli stated that

I had seven days as per their store rule to return an item purcgased from them and the seven days has expired, hence he needs authority from their supplier befor a decision is made. I must therefore leave the fitbit with them so they will forward it to their supplier.

I explained to him that i have no problen doing this as long as he lent me a fitbit to use in the inreim (It would take 3 to seven working days for their supplier to give a respond)

He was unable to to this. I paid R999.00 for this item (only worked for two weeks)

I strongly feel that my rights as a customer has be abused. I paid a lot of money an item that does not work

Please help
