I made a R65 purchase at Clicks Benmore Gardens, which for some reason wasn’t processed (or “banked”) by the merchant. When I later tried to close my ABSA bank account, I was informed that this unbanked Clicks charge was preventing the closure.

I had to go back to the Clicks Benmore Gardens branch to settle the R65 manually — which was an absolute inconvenience. It’s frustrating that such a small transaction, which should have been processed normally, caused unnecessary delays and complications in closing my bank account.

Clicks needs to ensure their payment processing systems work efficiently to avoid putting customers through this kind of trouble
