Hostile treatment from Pharmacist at Clicks Harvest Place
Dear Clicks Management, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention to an unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday at your Clicks pharmacy branch. Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 17:14, I visited the Clicks Harvest Place in Kempton Park to collect my husband's prescription for antibiotics. To provide some context regarding the urgency of the matter, my husband is currently battling stage 5 kidney failure and undergoes dialysis treatment. On Monday morning, he fell ill with a fever of 41.1 Celsius, prompting a visit to Arwyp for dialysis and consultation with the Nephrologist. Upon receiving the prescription, I promptly drove to Harvest Place Clicks, my preferred pharmacy. Upon arrival, I was informed by a gentleman that the required Augmentin 600mg was unavailable, with only the 1000mg dosage in stock. Understanding the urgency, I requested the gentleman to contact the prescribing doctor to inquire about adjusting the dosage. However, the situation took a distressing turn when the pharmacist on duty, Almarie Kotze, approached me. Ms. Kotze informed me, without verifying alternative options, that the 600mg dosage was unavailable and could only be obtained the following day. Despite my request to check availability at nearby Clicks pharmacies, Ms. Kotze dismissively stated that none had the required medication, without consulting any system for confirmation. Furthermore, she asserted that it was after 17:00 and contacting the doctor was not feasible. As I waited, I attempted to facilitate communication between Ms. Kotze and the doctor by contacting the dialysis center. However, Ms. Kotze's unprofessional response left me deeply distraught. When the doctor agreed to provide a revised prescription for the adjusted dosage of Augmentin 1000mg over the phone, Ms. Kotze's reaction was unacceptable. She raised her voice at me, refusing to speak with the doctor and insisting that I wait until she attended to other customers. This interaction left me in tears, deeply shaken by the lack of professionalism and empathy displayed. As a long-standing customer of Clicks, I am disheartened by this experience. Despite being a paying and loyal customer, I was met with disregard and hostility. It is my sincere hope that this matter will be addressed promptly and appropriately. I kindly request feedback on the steps taken to address this issue and prevent similar occurrences in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Clarise de Klerk
