Horrible Experience

Click security (which is Fidelity Guards). I just relocated to Sunninghill area, and the closest shopping centre really to run errands at is Chilli Lane Centre which is close enough to walk too. Yesterday 06 August 2020. My husband an I went to clicks, which we both collect our monthly Doctor's prescription and we've been going to this particular branch since we relocated. We are a interracial couple, which already makes it hard to be accepted in society, and it's a lot to deal with public ************** on a daily basis.

Anyway, back to the problem with Clicks. I go with my husband when he goes collect his medication and which he does the same when i go. I would then walk around and browse while he waits as the queue are always short due to mostly one person on the medical counter.

While i waited yesterday with my trolley and my groceries from pick n pay, i had a security guard following me through out. Which really is uncomfortable, and creates such anxiety, and i was so affected that i blacked out and ended up not even being able to remember where to look, and thank God to a young man who was packing stock who overheard my cry and frustration and he jumped to assist.

Firstly, if clicks thinks to have security follow you around because they think you'll ***** and add on too your already full trolley, they need to have a parcel counter at the door for customers to live they packets and be free to shop around without being made to feel like you are there to do anything wrong. But i noticed it's not even there trolley, because even on a normal day. I don't know if the security company has race issues or what. I'm tired of feeling as if i need to apologize for being in a interracial relationship , and i need to explain myself to every person stuck in the dark days.

I then turned and asked the security guard wearing a Fidelity Guard uniform what was the issue and i made him aware he was making me feel uncomfortable, because while i wait always for my husband to shop i always browse and find little thing to buy (which is very much a girly thing to do) but yesterday i decided to look for a pocket hand sanitizer as i needed one to keep in my jackets should i not have my bag with me.

Same same security company is employed at clicks ferndale (Ferngat- Republic) where i was based before, and same experience i experienced when we would go there and i waited while he collected medication, which are not all collected on same dates, which then makes the visit to a nearby centre more than desired.

I ended up most days having to wait outside, just so i'm not made to feel anxious.

Therefore i don't know if this security company or clicks have anything against interracial couples or black and white people who hang around together.

I'm raising this issue because it bothers me and i would like for Clicks, or Fidelity Guards to let us know if we are on their most wanted list hence every branch we step into we must be followed, clearly they know something we don't know.

I actually must say i am waiting to have my current prescription to run out and ask my doctor to move it to dischem, as i have never experience any discomfort in their stores and they have branches which are way large. It's sad because to support my better half i have to tag along as he has other medication which he currently can only collect at a click. Guess i'll have to stay at the parking and count cars.

I can't help but feel it's very much a racial issue...i don't know if it's by Clicks instruction to the security company or the security company.
