Elderly Lady Degraded and Treated as a ********

Good day

My mom is a 76 year old black female.

On the 25th of July 2025 between 11:00 and 12:00, she visited Clicks Crowthorne store. She purchased a Sorbet night cream and was assisted by a male teller who also helped with locating her clicks Clubcard number. After the purchase, she then decided she needed a face wash and went to the aisles to look for it. A man(Ayanda Buthelezi) who works at the Clicks store asked if he could help her to which she said no. He kept following her then opened her bag and asked her to follow him without asking any questions. He led her to a big room where he called colleagues to come and search her. They started asking how she got the night cream. She explained that I had bought it and even used her clicks Clubcard points. They asked the one who was serving her, they got slips printed and it was confirmed that she had indeed bought the night cream.

This is unacceptable treatment of the customer. It’s disrespectful devalues, and erodes dignity.

It is not the first time we see store workers needing to check if one has paid for an item but it has never been done so aggressively and with no room given to the possibility that the customer did not *****. Even security guards do not do that.

This is a defamation of character in full view of Clicks staff and customers.
