Discontinued or incorrect information?

On Saturday, I wanted to purchase the Toni & Guy Wide Plate flat iron that is being advertised at Clicks. After waiting for some time and someone then eventually coming to assist me, I was informed by the assistant that the product had been discontinued. I asked why it was being advertised then! However, I had been informed by someone else that the product is indeed available for sale. Also, it's available online.

So right now, I'm completely confused! Has this product been discontinued and your company is still advertising it or was I provided with incorrect information? Either way, it creates a bad impression of Clicks!
