Clicks *********** the unsuspecting customer

Clicks have no shame in ripping the consumer off. Yestreday I went to Clicks Walmer Park branch in Port Elizabeth to purchase 500ml Sofnfree cannabis and shea butter curl activator gel for my son. This product has been retailing for R92 at Clicks last month. Unfortunately Clicks Walmer Park did not have any stock so I had to go to Clicks Baywest. At Baywest the product was retailing at R130 for a 500ml tub. I questioned the store manager how it was possible that an item that retailed at R92 per 500ml last month was now R130, to which the only explanation was, "price increase". I still wanted to know how is it possible for a 41% increase, 10% to 20% is still acceptable but 41%? My comment to him then was, "For me as the consumer it seems more like Clicks has now discovered that the item in question is a good seller and decided that it being the silly season and most people have money, that they will milk the situation. Any case I left Clicks to go to Dischem in the same mall but unfortunately they don't stock the product. On my return to Clicks where I then had to reluctantly purchase the product, I discovered that the price had been removed from the shelf. When I questioned this, I was informed that they were in the process of updating the lable as it was now R140 per 500ml. A massive 52% increase which I refused to pay as 5 minutes earlier it was displayed as R130 which they reluctantly said I can pay. So here's the thing. I went online this morning and came upon a trading company based in Vanderbijl Park known as Splendit where the same product retails for R54 per 500ml. So, if Splendit can sell this product at R54 still being able to make a profit (as no business will sell a product at a loss), how does it justify Clicks selling it for R140 (probaby at 90% mark up). They should be ashamed of themselves as it is quite obvious that they are milking the public dry. So if any of you out there uses this product I still made a saving of R224 after ordering 4 tubs with the inclusion of R120 courier costs.
